What began as a small event has grown into the social event of the year, bringing residents of the local community in the thousands to sing along with our amazing entertainers. Many residents bring picnic hampers to enjoy the evening relaxing with family and friends.

Last year 2bacr community radio, broadcast the event live, reaching out to the broader community and those who are unable to attend the event.
Canterbury Bankstown City Council has been a major supporter for many years in conjunction with several local businesses, without whom we would not be able to stage Carols.
Our regular entertainers include internationally recognised opera/stage performers Rebecca Currier, Blake Fischer, a very successful tenor Murray Mayday and local singer Ashleigh Judge. They are complimented by Bankstown Yagoona Brass Band, Council’s Talent Advancement Program youth members and last year the SingOz Club students joined for the first time.
Carols by Candlelight is a totally inclusive event, encompassing people of all ages, ethnicity, social and cultural backgrounds.
The event promotes peace, harmony and joy, growing in popularity every year, beyond the expectations of the original Rotarians responsible for the idea in 1968.
