Youth Advancement Program

In 1998, the Rotary Club of Padstow established a fund called The Padstow Rotary Youth Trust, the program now called The Rotary Club of Padstow Youth Advancement Program is managed by a committee on behalf of the Club.

Aims of the Program
The aims of the Youth Advancement Program are to aid and offer financial support to young people aged up to 25 who reside, are educated or work in the Rotary Club of Padstow “Areas of Service” to assist them to reach their full potential in their chosen field. The Youth Advancement Program is Equity - for the advancement of young people.

The program provides assistance for:
• Development of leadership skills
• Development of skills to assist in employment opportunities
• Nurturing exceptional talents in a variety of areas including, but not limited
to Leadership, Education, Performing Arts, Sports, Literature, Sciences, Engineering, Languages, Mathematics, Economics, Information Technology, Health Care, Social Work and Trades
• Maximising the welfare and opportunities for disadvantaged youth
• Support appropriate projects already being conducted for youth by other agencies and schools

Since the beginning of the program support has been given to many young people to achieve their goals.

How will Assistance be Provided;

Successful applicants receive financial assistance for up to one year, as determined by the committee. The program may continue beyond one year provided that significant benefit can be demonstrated from the assistance – Conditions apply.

How you can Help the Program

There are two ways in which you can help make a big difference in the lives of young people in the community.

First you can help us locate young people whose lives would benefit from the support of the Program. They could be family members, neighbours, work mates, friends, or you could benefit from our support. One phone call could alter their lives or yours. So, call Barry Thompson. Secondly, we need your financial support. Every donation, no matter how small or large, will enable the Program to support more young people.
Young people who have been given support, have told us the funding has made a difference in their lives and helped them to achieve their goals.
