Join us for a special night as we welcome guest speaker, Gary Jubelin, one of Australia’s most respected and decorated Homicide Detectives, Award-Winning Best-Selling Author, Award winning podcast host and investigative reporter.Former Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin is one of Australia's most decorated and respected homicide detectives, renowned for solving some of the country's most high-profile and complex crimes. Over his 34-year career, Gary received multiple commendations, working in specialised units such as the Armed Hold-Up Squad, Organised Crime Squad, Gangs Squad, Unsolved Homicide, and Homicide Squad. For 25 years, he focused on homicide investigations, retiring in 2019 with the rank of Detective Chief Inspector. Since retiring from the police force, Gary has successfully transitioned into the media. He is the creator and host of I Catch Killers, one of Australia's most popular and downloaded podcasts, regularly sitting in the top 10 across platforms. In partnership with News Corp Australia, I Catch Killers has become a massive success, with Gary’s deep dive into real crime continuing to captivate audiences. In 2023, Gary launched a new podcast, Breaking Badness, which won the Best Documentary Award at the 2024 Australian Podcast Awards. This ground breaking project provided exclusive access to the Macquarie Correctional Centre, one of New South Wales’ most controversial maximum-security prisons. Through this unprecedented access, Gary exposed the stark realities of crime and punishment in Australia, sparking new conversations about prison reform. Gary is also a bestselling author, with his books I Catch Killers and Badness published by Harper Collins. He’s currently working on his third book, set for release in 2026, which will delve further into his life experiences and insights into crime, punishment, and the criminal justice system. Beyond his podcasting and writing, Gary is a highly sought-after keynote speaker, sharing his unique perspective on crime, investigations, and reform. As he continues to use his platform to advocate for prison reform, Gary remains deeply committed to making a difference in the fight against crime. “By focusing on what happens inside prisons, this might be the most significant contribution of my career,” says Jubelin. “If reoffending is reduced, so is crime, and society becomes a better place for everyone.” |
